| Students at the FDNC Vocational School |
Students sponsored through HUGS attend a vocational school run by FDNC, the organization HUGS supports,
called the Innovative Talents Vocational Skills Training Center.
The school has grown rapidly in recent years and currently has over 160 students and employs 11 qualified staff members.
Students can choose from courses is carpentry, masonry, tailoring,
computer skills, sustainable agriculture, and hairdressing. Over the next year, it plans to expand course offerings to include fitter automobile and motorbike mechanics. In addition, all students attend health science classes focused on imparting basic primary healthcare and education information.
The school has an award-winning student brass band that plays at weddings and events throughout eastern Uganda. They also have a dance and drama
program and are currently in the process of developing the first youth orchestra in Uganda.
