In Uganda, a modest tuition fee puts a secondary education out of reach for orphans or youth from impoverished families, who can anticipate a future
marked by malnutrition, disease and hopelessness. With no work opportunities for young people, they have a bleak existence they call “sitting at home.”
Just $195 a year, or about 50 cents a day, provides a vocational education and an opportunity to earn a reasonable living.
The student you help will attend the Vocational School run by Foundation
for Development of Needy Communities (FDNC). The school currently offers programs in tailoring, carpentry, masonry, computers,
sustainable agriculture, and hairdressing.

As a sponsor, you'll receive a photo and profile of your sponsored student, and have the opportunity to establish a
personal connection by corresponding with the student you're sponsoring.
Donations to the Scholarship Fund are used towards the sponsorship of additional students not yet matched with sponsors,
or to cover special, one time needs like tutoring for a student starting after the beginning of the year, trips home for
boarding students or anti-malarial bed nets. A donation of $20 could provide bed nets for four students, or send five
students home for school breaks.
Please download, print and complete the Donation Form and mail it, along with a check payable to Hope for Ugandan
Students, to the address below.
